Hello, I am Jane Gordon
I have 28 years experience working in the costume and making industry
In 1998 I completed a degree in 3D Furniture and Product Design before heading straight into the world of Costume and Prop Making. I have worked on the West End, at Glyndebourne Opera House and for Film and Carnival events.
I have developed a more in depth knowledge and understanding of pattern cutting techniques through courses, exploration and experimentation.
I design zero waste sewing patterns which are available as PDF downloads in my shop
I teach these and other sewing techniques in my Hoylake Studio.
I have an interest in fabric sustainability and I am driven to reduce the amount of fabric waste that comes alongside making clothes. I have introduced a Fabric Donation Station which is a kind of fabric shop in my Hoylake studio. Anyone who has fabric they no longer use can bring it to be re-distributed and used by home sewists and students. We raise funds for charities in the process.
